OneDrive
BYOVault backs up each user's personal OneDrive at the file level, with full version history.
What's captured
- Every file in a user’s personal drive, backed up individually.
- Full version history for each file, not just the latest saved version.
What's not captured
Teams cache library excluded
OneDrive’s auto-created cache library used for Microsoft Teams/Office caching is explicitly excluded from backup — it’s transient application data, not user content. Microsoft Teams itself is not a backed-up workload; there is no Teams chat, channel, or file backup in BYOVault today.
As with SharePoint, sharing permissions on OneDrive files and folders are not captured — only file content and its location.
Restoring OneDrive data
OneDrive files restore in place to their original path via drive-inject, or download directly. See In-Place Restore and Restore Limitations — restore is always per-file, there is no “restore this entire drive” action.
