Version History
Every version of an item that BYOVault has ever backed up is retained and browsable — not just the most recent one.
How it works
Each time a backup job runs and finds a file or mail item has changed, it writes a new version alongside the ones already stored — it never overwrites a prior version. Browsing an item’s history shows every version captured across every backup run, each with its own timestamp and checksum.
Checksum-verified
Every stored version carries a SHA-256 checksum of its plaintext content, recorded at backup time and checked again on restore — so a restored file is verified to match exactly what was backed up.
Where you can browse it
Operators can browse version history for any tenant, any workload, from the operator dashboard. End users with access to the self-service portal can browse version history for their own Exchange mailbox and OneDrive items.
