BYOVault backs up Exchange mailbox messages, folder by folder, using delta sync to keep runs incremental.
What's captured
- Mail messages, backed up per folder.
- Delta sync between runs, so each backup only pulls what changed since the last one.
What's not captured
Mail only — no calendar or contacts
Exchange backup covers mail messages. Calendar items and contacts are not backed up today.
Restoring Exchange data
A mail item restores via exchange-inject, which delivers it into a specified mailbox and folder — this supports cross-mailbox restore, so an item can be restored into a different mailbox than the one it was backed up from.
